If you are like most people, you probably have never heard of the city of Fredericksburg . This small city, hidden in the vastness of Texas , has charm and beauty. It is located about seventy miles away from the Texas capitol and resides in the beautiful hill country that Texas has to offer. Fredericksburg is a busy tourist town to those who know about it. It is heavily populated by people of German descent and walking through the streets of the city, you can still see the influence that it has had. When upon first entering the city, you are brought back to a time where you could stroll through town without a care in the world. Crime is almost zero and the city is well cared after, to make sure that it continues to possess a sense of comfort and safety. The city is a reminder of how towns where like fifty years ago. The people treat you like their own and shops and restaurants are accommodating to anyone. If visiting during the summer months, you will be able to taste and smell fresh peaches that have been grown in the city.

Aside from the many German restaurants and shops, tourists can find biking routes that take you into the rolling Texas hills. Vineyards and breweries can also be found close to town and tours can be taken if desired. A weekend or longer in Fredericksburg will make you leave your worries of the busy life at home and you will be transformed into a world where you shop, drink, and eat. For many, the hard part is having to leave and get back into the swing of things back home.

 

The many people who have never been to Fredericksburg may think this false, but the city itself possesses the ability to make a person feel at home even though they are on vacation. People who are not of German descent also find the town charming and inviting. For the number of German restaurants, there are equally a number of non-German restaurants. Fredericksburg, Texas is one of those treasures that make a person want to stay forever. It is truly a hidden treasure.
