Nantucket
North America
» United States
I?ve always been fascinated with islands, so when were in Massachusetts a few years ago, I made sure that we toured three of the most famous in the state; Nantucket being one of them. Located off Cape Cod, Nantucket is about 25 miles out to the sea and is really small, only measuring 3 miles by 14 miles at the biggest points. There?s about 100 miles of shoreline, though.

Martha's Vineyard

I had wanted to visit Martha?s Vineyard for a long time so I was almost beside myself when we were actually able to make it just a couple of summers ago. We had already been to Cape Cod and I was rather expecting the two to be somewhat similar but I was pleasantly surprised to find that they are actually very different.

Baltimore

Baltimore is often referred to as a city of neighborhoods and after visiting there recently I began to understand why the city has picked up this nickname. Just about every kind of neighborhood you can imagine is crowded into this overflowing city, including avenues of elegant homes, historic cobblestone streets and innumerable blue-collar boroughs running alongside the redbrick row houses that the city is commonly associated with.

Panama City-Florida

Panama City, is located on the Gulf of Mexico, in northwestern Florida. There are stretches of white sand beaches and picturesque marinas. The port city has become a tourist destination, but it is still primarily a port and fishing community. The marinas are bustling with commercial fishermen and tourists alike. The city is relatively small (around 7,000 full time residents) though it?s size triples annually with tourists, visitors and business people.

Las Vegas

Last year I was invited to my best friends wedding in Las Vegas. Did I really need to RSVP? I couldn?t get my bags packed fast enough. I knew my husband would not be able to take time off of work, so I decided that it would be a great getaway for the girls. With so much to do in Vegas, I was a bit worried that we would be side tracked at the real reason for the trip; the wedding.

Oahu

Hawaii is a great destination! There is an endless opportunity for rest, relaxation, recreation and sight seeing on all of the Islands, but I really enjoyed a trip to Oahu. I enjoyed the cultural aspects of the island; the lush tropical environment and I learned to surf (kind of) on the ocean offshore of Ala Moana Beach.
