Getting to Aden
The bus from Taizz takes 3 hours and costs 210 YR.

The bus to Al-Mukhalla leaves at 5.30 am. It stops at 8 am for breakfast, price 700 YR.

Hotels
The Hotel Al Wafa charges 1200 YR for a double. Rooms are small and have TV, AC and fan. Common bathroom, but very clean, staff is friendly and speaks English. A report from 6/98 however said bathrooms ware dirty and staff was unfriendly...

What to do
Most people are on their way through, but if you have the time, the cisterns of At-Tawilla are worth a look.

Al-Mukalla

Getting to Al-Mukalla
Either by bus from Aden.

There are

shared taxis from Bir Ali.

Going to Seyun costs 350 YR by bus, it leaves at 6.45 (check this because it can change), the trip takes 6 hours. By shared taxi it costs 600 YR

Hotels
The Star Hotel (or Alnujon Hotel) at Labors street 3 (tel. 303925, fax 304366) charges 1500 YR for a double (asking price is 1700). Rooms have AC and fan and private shower, toilets are common. Recommended.

More expensive is the Al Maseela. Double with bathroom and breakfast costs 3000 YR. The hotel is very clean and has a good restaurant.

What to do
Al-Mukalla is a harbour town and has not much to offer to the traveller, most people just pass by on the way to or from Hadramaut.
