Accomasia
Visually nice site from this young travelpublishing company. They are preparing some guidebooks with info on accomodation in Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong/Macau etc... Look out for their books. The site is under development and lacks some practical info. Their books section however is very complete.
CBN Internet provider
This is the site of an Internet provider in Indonesia. It has some good general links on Indonesia, but without explanation. The rest of the site is not interesting for the traveller.
Equatorial adventures in Indonesia
This site has a well written story about a 2 1/2 week trip through Sulawesi, Kalimantan and Bali. Minus is the fact that the text is in a gif-file which makes downloading a bit slow.
http://home.wxs.nl/~vdbroeke/engels.htm
This is a personal site from a Dutch guy full of background info on Indonesia. Don't expect practical travel info, but it has plenty of links to any site which has to do with Indonesia (music, magazines, movies on Indonesia etc...) If your roots are in Indonesia, then this is THE site for you. The author can help you tracing back your ancestors in Indonesia.
http://www.emp.pdx.edu/htliono/travel.html
This a site with some general info on almost any part of Indonesia. The info comes from leaflets provided by the Indonesian tourist authority. The site has plenty of visitors (if you can believe the counter).
Indonesian Homepage
This is one of the most interesting Indonesian sites I saw until now. OK, you won't find a lot of practical info for travellers here, but you will find plenty of background info on anything which has to do with Indonesia. History, addresses of almost anything related to Indonesia, info on health matters, even links to organizations calling for "Reformasi" and lots of other info. Most of the info is under the form of links to other sites, and you'll have to invest some time to find the info you need.
My travels through Asia
This site is visually very good. It's easy and fast to navigate using frames on top of the page. The pictures are good quality and downloading reasonably fast. The information however is not very detailed, but good enough to get an idea of what you can do in a particular country during your stay. Countries listed so far are Indonesia (Java and Bali), Singapore, Burma, Thailand, Malaysia and Cambodia.
South East Asia a'la Laary
This is also a visually good site, but the info is lacking for the moment. There's a small info page on Cambodia, but pages on Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia are under construction. The "Tales" page has some good travelogues from people travelling in Cambodia and Indonesia. A lot of pictures available.
The North Sulawesi site
This is a semi-commercial site written by the owners of 2 backpackers hotels in Northern Sulawesi. It's useful sometimes, it has some advertisement banners so you can check out prices. It's run by Peter Blume, and he can help you with whatever info you need on Sulawesi. The site has been extended in the mean time and now also has schedules and prices for flights from Manado (5/99).
Tourism Indonesia
This site has some general info, nothing you won't find in a pocket Berlitz guide except maybe for the events calendar.
